There is an app for everything and motorists are taking advantage of the fuel price apps that have been launched to help them beat the price cycles.
7-Eleven’s launched it’s Fuel App in March 2016 and claims to have saved motorists more than $1 million on fuel purchases.
Julie Laycock, Head of Marketing at 7-Eleven, says “The 7-Eleven Fuel App is all about delivering great value, innovation and convenience to our customers, as we strive to remain Australia’s first choice for convenience”.
The 7-Eleven Fuel App allows motorists to search their five nearest stores to find the lowest price on fuel. Nearly 4.5 million searches for the best local price have been made over the last twelve months through the Fuel App, with around 20,000 searches a day being made this year.
Customers can then ‘lock in’ their best price and redeem petrol for that amount at any 7-Eleven store in Australia within seven days. The innovative concept means customers can redeem the best local deal on fuel purchases regardless of which 7-Eleven fuel store they fill up at.
Over the past year, nearly 300,000 fuel price locks have been redeemed through the 7-Eleven Fuel App. Customers have saved more than $1 million on fuel purchases, or an average of 10.5 cents per litre.
If you could combine these savings with the security controls, reporting and online services offered by traditional fuel card providers it would be a winner for fleets as well.
