The Citroen C3 is not a big car and we loved the colour – metallic blue is the pick of the colours on the range. We got out and about shortly after lockdown on a lovely spring day in 2021.
At the front you can see the European styling with three levels of lights (headlights, daytime running lights and fog lights) woven into the bar design with contrasting chrome trims and vents.
From the rear, the C3 is just as pretty at the back as it is at the front – a real looker. With the style, comes practically. Open up the hatch and you’ll find a large amount of boot space which is more than enough for groceries or several overnight bags. And the seats fold down to give you 920 litres of space.
Under the hood there’s only one engine and gearbox combination. It’s a 1.2 litre three cylinder turbo with a six speed auto. The stop/start technology provides fuel economy of 4.9 L/100km on the combined cycle.
On the inside the cabin is well laid out with an easy to read instrument cluster. It features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus a AM/FM radio (no DAB). Because it’s a small car, there’s not much storage space and our phone ended up in the cup holder when it was being charged. Which is ok because the storage space in front of the gearstick is awkward to use as a cup holder. There’s another cup holder in between the seats for your latte.
The funky white colour panels (known as Airbump) on the outside are extended on the inside with the emerald ambience design feature, to contrast the darker colours in the fabric, making the interior interesting.
The Citroen C3 Shine drives great and in the driver’s seat you can enjoy the ride with a great sound system and stylish interior. It’s not the car to take four adults on a road trip. It is a good car for going out on the town with your friends. Small and easy to park with enough room for the trips around the city. For a couple it’s a perfect size. Even if you’re starting a family there is room for a pram in the boot.
